Large suitcases

Lipault offers three large formats to suit the length and type of your trip:

• Medium-stay format: 63 x 44 x 27cm / approx. 70L / Ideal for trips of 4 days to 2 weeks
• Long-stay format: 70-72 x 47 x 30cm / approx. 85-93L / Ideal for trips of 2 weekes or more
• Extra-long stay/Trunk formats: 79 x 51 x 32cm / approx. 110-120L / Ideal for family holidays, extended stays abroad

All our models feature 4 silent multi-directional wheels and a multi-position telescopic handle.

Despite their generous capacity, our soft suitcases are among the lightest on the market:

• Plume Medium-stay (63 cm): approx. 2.6 kg
• Plume Long-stay (70 cm): just 2.9 kg for 93 L capacity
• Plume Extra-long stay (79 cm): approx. 3.3 kg for 120 L
• Lost In Berlin Long-stay (70 cm): approx. 3.5 kg

This lightness lets you pack 3 to 4 kg more while staying within the 23 kg limit imposed by most airlines for checked luggage.

The choice depends on the duration and type of your trip:

• 4 to 7 days: medium-stay suitcase (63 cm) — spacious enough for a week without overpacking
• 1 to 2 weeks: medium-stay (63 cm) or long-stay (70 cm) depending on the season (winter clothes take more space)
• 2 weeks to 1 month: long-stay suitcase (70-72 cm) — optimal capacity for extended trips
• Long stays, families, temporary relocation: extra-long stay / Trunk (79 cm) — our largest format with dressing-room layout

Limits vary by airline and ticket type:

• British Airways, Virgin Atlantic: Standard checked luggage: 23kg / Premium fares: 32kg (Club World)
• Air France, KLM, Lufthansa: Standard checked luggage: 23kg / Premium fares: 32kg (Business/First)
• Emirates, Qatar Airways: Standard checked luggage: 30kg / Premium fares: 40kg (Business)
• easyJet, Ryanair, Jet2: Standard checked luggage: 15-20kg (paid option) / Premium fares: up to 32kg with surcharge

With 85 to 93 litres of usable volume, a long-stay suitcase can hold:

• 10 to 14 full outfits (rolling technique or packing cubes)
• 2 to 3 extra pairs of shoes

• Bulky winter clothes (coats, jumpers, boots)
• Accessories (hats, belts, scarves)

Proven techniques to maximise your long-stay suitcase content:

1. Roll your clothes rather than folding (saves space + fewer wrinkles)
2. Use luggage organisers to compartmentalise by category
3. Stuff socks and underwear inside shoes to use every cm³
4. Place heavy items (shoes, books) at the bottom, near the wheels
5. Roll belts inside shirt collars to preserve them
6. Use external pockets for documents and liquids

To preserve your suitcase over time, especially after intensive trips:

• Exterior: clean with our Lipault product in circular motions, or a damp cloth with mild soap.
• Interior: vacuum or wipe after each trip to remove sand, dust or crumbs.
• Wheels: check they spin freely, remove any tangled hair or threads.
• Zips: occasionally apply a little candle wax to keep them gliding smoothly.
• Storage: store your suitcase in a dry, ventilated space, slightly open to prevent odours.
